Eyra Toggenburg: First Victorian on the Moon
A manned spaceflight to the moon only became possible in the twentieth century, culminating with the historic landing in 1969. However, the journals of Eyra Toggenburg reveal another possibility as the intrepid adventurer attempts to be the first Victorian on the moon. Things begin to go awry soon after touchdown, when she must use all her wits and expertise to survive. As usual in the Toggenburg stories, everything unfolds without words, like a silent film, as Eyra explores the lunar surface and makes an astounding discovery.
