A cruise on the Mississippi turns into an adventure for Eyra when she accidently maroons a diver on a mission to salvage the contents of a wrecked train.  Later, in a deserted mining town, she stumbles on the entrance to a mysterious underground cavern and makes a startling discorery about visitors from distant lands.
